Artist Statement

I am a fine art photographer based in Charlotte, North Carolina, with a commitment to capturing contemplative moments of everyday life. My work is rooted in themes of connection—whether to nature, to others, or to ourselves—and is defined by an intuitive sense of stillness and observation. In my photographs, I aim to convey a sense of timeless sensitivity and soulful simplicity, inviting the viewer to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with the present moment.

I work primarily with 35mm and medium format film, as I find that the tactile, slow process of analog photography aligns with my belief in intentionality and mindfulness. My creative journey began in my childhood, nurtured by the encouragement of my parents and grandparents, and developed through formative experiences at SCAD, NC State, and East Carolina University. After graduating with a degree in Art, I pursued a career in art direction and portrait photography, which helped refine my eye and deepened my connection to the visual arts.

My work is an extension of my personality—a calm and curious approach to the world. Living in Charlotte with my husband and two dogs, Finn and Moose, I continue to be inspired by the quiet moments in my everyday surroundings.
